Alcohol addiction leads to Poverty, Unemployment, Child Labor and Suicide. Alcohol is the one of the social evils in the state, It destroys the individuals, friends, families, marriages and the society. There are more than 6 Crores of Alcohol addicts in the nation including2 million young people. Over 45 per cent drink of Indian men take alcohol five times a month and 14 per cent use tobacco. Drug addiction is becoming a major health problem in India with probably 24 crore Indians addicted to drugs. More than 6 million Indians takeHeroin and Opium. 40% of those who start drinking before the age of 15 meet criteria for alcohol dependence at some point in their lives. More than 65% of the laborers in the state are addicted to Alcohol. Sale of alcohol has been growing steadily at 6% and is estimated to grow at the rate of 8% per year. Alcohol production and sale is the major source of revenue in most states (Rs.25,000 crores) and has been cited as a reason for permitting alcohol sale.
Alcohol addiction leads to serious health and social problems. 85% of men who were violent towards their wives were frequent or daily users of alcohol. More than 50% of the abusive incident occurs 9 under the influence of alcohol. Alcohol abuse leads to separationsand divorces and causes emotional hardship to the family. Drug addiction is becoming a major health problem in India with probably An estimated 7.5 crore Indians are drug addicts and the number is going up significantly. It is estimated that there are about 6.25 crore alcoholics, 90 lakh Cannabisand 2.5 lakhs opiates and nearly 10 lakh illicit drug users in the country.
A total of 160 drug and alcohol dependents were studied.

It was found that all addicts were taking either brown sugar or Alcohol. Out of total study population of 160 drug dependents 87 (54.4%) were brown sugar dependents, 56 (35.44%) were alcohol dependents and 17 (10.26%) were dependents on both. 35 out of 87 (64.36 %) of addicts on brown sugar belonged age group 20-29 years and in case Alcohol dependents 17 out of 56(35.35%) were in age group 30-34 yrs followed by 10 out of 56 (17.85%) in age group 45-50 years.
Reasons given for starting consumption
1.companionship (peer pressure) 95(59.3%)

3 curiosity 16 (10%)
4 relief from stress 12 (7.5%)
108(67%) Reported themselves to detox centre followed by 47(29.38%) brought by family members. The reason for continuation of drug intake was unanimously the fear of withdrawal symptoms. Various reasons given for relapse in order of descending frequency were pleasure 24(34.16%), family quarrels 14(18.18%), 13(16.88%) availability of drug and 11.28%)

3.Pray that the police to nab all the Narcotic Drug dealers, Middle men and peddlers
4.Pray that the state government should take uniform and total prohibition of alcohol.
5.Pray that factories manufacturing drugs products should be closed
6.Pray for youths especially college students doing this activities
7.Pray that government should take severe action to ban drugs
