Naxals and Maoists.

The Naxalites, also sometimes called the Naxals, groups waging a violent struggle on behalf of landless labourers and tribal people against landlords and others.Naxal groups have been raising mainly and issues and they blame the Government settings. The Naxalites control territory throughout Bihar, Jharkand and Andhra Pradesh states and claim to be supported by the poorest of the rural population, especially the Adivasis.

The Naxalites have frequently targeted tribal, police and government workers in what they say is a fight for improved land rights and more jobs for neglected agricultural labourers and the poor. The Naxalites claim that they are following a strategy of rural rebellion similar to a protracted people's war against the government  Naxalites are active across approximately 220 districts in 20 states of India accounting for about 40% of India’s geographical area. 76 districts found to be badly affected by Naxalites. Central Government allotted Rs.2475 crores for Naxal affected States under RSVY plan to control Naxalite terrorism. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declared them as the “Most serious internal threat to India’s national security”.

The strength of these movements are estimated over 50,000 and claim to control an estimated one fifth of India’s forests. More than 10,000 people are killed due to Naxal violence in the nation in the last 15 years

Where do they operate? Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, eastern Maharashtra, Bihar, and western Orissa, tribal-dominated areas in the borderlands of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal .  


Prayer Points:

 1 Pray for God’s rule and peace would come upon all the places where affected by Naxalites

2 Pray that all Naxalites should repent from their wicked ways and saved

3 Pray that Government should take wise decision with help from God to control Naxalite terrorism

4 Pray for protection to innocent people especially to Christians, Ministers and Missionaries.
